Concert in the Park
The City of St. Francis was awarded a St. Francis New Generation Grant of $1,735 in 2019.
Our intent is to host and promote a musical event in our community that will help bring the community together for a large social event. We will have the opportunity to use Sawhill Park and The Bandshell to host the “Concert in the Park” event and to show off what our community has to offer. We feel that this will be a unique event with top caliber musical talent. This event will coincide with the St. Francis Alumni weekend and will be the showcase for the evening gathering in the park. The funds needed are to establish a precedent to start and continue to maintain a musical entertainment event that can be established on a yearly basis. We have obtained $4325 in sponsorship money from local businesses which has enabled us to lock in The Long Run Band for this event. We are asking for the additional grant funds to help with covering advertising, hotel, sound technician, lighting, licensing fees, and any other additional set up expenses in order to produce the concert.
